I hope all Comme des Garcons fans look good in red, because the Spring 2015 collection is ruby red from head to toe. All 22 looks. Never one to do anything half way, Rei Kawakubo was inspired by roses and blood. And that’s pretty much what she gave us  in the form of yet another seasons’ worth of complex, conceptual art-for-wear. Shocking, sign-of-the-times motifs like the macabre blood-spattered prints on heavy PVC-like fabrics (almost giving the appearance of a butchers apron), ominous red-riding hoods befitting a current-day update on the classic creepy fairy tale, shredded strips of fabric, footwear filled with holes and in the midst of all this shiny red, apocalyptic madness lies her singular attempt to show the beauty and humanity in nature, her lovely red roses. Wear only if you dare.
